When the going gets tough, the tough get going

Through a series of events, fortunate and un, Jenn and I find ourselves free of the shackles of employment at the same time. And the dog! She is also unemployed.

How many chances does a family have to take unplanned, unbound adventures, we asked? In our 10+ years together, the opportunity has afforded itself only once. So we carpe diemed and set about quasi-plotting our course, quasi-committing to having no course.

Our goal? To have new experiences, learn new things, see new sights, eat new eats and get another stamp on our dog’s passport. Our sights were set: our target, the full length of the Baja penninsula, 25 degrees of latitude below home, where darkness encroaches.

So we’ve packed up the car, closed up the house (IT’S BEING WATCHED), and have got ready to get going…
